Post Commons
Built in 1909 as a United States Post Office. The exterior is a stone facade with flowing staircases, black metal accents, and river views. There is a comfortable dining section at the front with a kids' play area. It has a train table and some other small toys. The lobby has 25 foot high ceilings with terrazzo flooring and glass windows. There are three main spaces for events. The main coffee room has a 40-foot steel bar. The Ryan Room has a jazz stage, grand piano, and water bar. Hallie Room has a turn of the century Engish bar and banquet or party lighting. The entire building has a capacity of 515 people. Post Office Commons can supply alcohol and bar staff can mix cocktails.
PHO! noodles & bubble tea (Fairview Heights)
Opened in April of 20222 with great pho, bubble tea, and spring rolls. When the owner saw me with a baby, a booster seat appeared. When my baby dropped her spoon, the owner practically ran over with a new one. The food and tea were great. The writing on the posted menu was small and I would have loved a vermicelli noodle dish. One of the staff said they are still working on their menu and I am excited for that. As a new restaurant, I loved my first try!
Doc's Smokehouse (Edwardsville)
These fantastic owners helped me learn to eat as a diabetic when I had gestational diabetes, and they have always welcomed my children. They have a full line of desserts including pies, cakes, and cheesecakes including KETO friendly, diabetic friendly, gluten free, and sugar free. Open 11am -7pm daily.
City Scoops Creamery
My niece loved the “Elsa Frozen” while I made my own ice cream sandwich. The ice cream is delicious and the kids serving sizes are generous! Open Year Round with fun games in the shop and bags outside during the summer! Ice cream is made in-house.
