Welcome to Madison County Kids!
I am Elizabeth, the creator of Madison County Kids. As a mother of three and a special education teacher, I spent endless hours looking for inexpensive and educational ways to entertain kids. Since I was already doing research, I created Madison County Kids in 2019 so other families could enjoy the information. During the chaos of 2020, our family made the decision that I would stay home with our kids while awaiting the arrival of our littlest. In the years since, I have been exploring the wonders of learning, spending quality time with my kids, and diving into all Madison County has to offer.
Our house is always busy! Our oldest is fourteen. She is a strong woman who loves to perform and is quickly finding her voice in the world. Our six year old likes to climb, dig in the mud, and talk about his passions. Our youngest recently turned four. She is always singing, dancing, and talking. We have one dog who keeps life busy with her chewing, digging, and running. The lizard, ant farm, brine shrimp, and garden add chaos to our homeschool curriculum along with our foster dogs and puppies.
Dad is the sanity in our busy world. He comforts me when I am tired and challenges me when I am taking the easy route. He cooks almost all our meals, plans camping trips, and acts as the voice of reason when I am moving too fast. He also adds a unique viewpoint by advocating for difficult and physically demanding adventures.
We love the opportunity to live and learn as a family while exploring Madison County. There is never enough to keep kids busy, but hopefully these pages provide you with educational and entertaining opportunities in the area. I hope you will join us on our journey as we learn about all Madison County has to offer families.
