Has a teen room, games, puppets, a slide, computers, and toys. Noisy kids can be hard to manage in a quieter space, but staff are kind.

Edison’s Entertainment Complex (Edwardsville)
Offers bowling, laser tag, an arcade, and a restaurant. The Genius club gives special discounts and free plays. There are also discount days.

Edwardsville Arts Center (Edwardsville)
Art classes, exhibits, and creative workshops for kids and families. They host free Saturday art classes!

Edwardsville Children's Museum (Edwardsville)
Hands-on exhibits focused on learning through play. Free tickets are available for families who are on food stamps and at local libraries. Best for ages 2-10. It can be hard to supervise multiple children in different rooms. Staff are strict about adult supervision.

Price: $7.00 for nonmembers (adults must pay).
Funky Planet Toys (Alton)
An interactive toy store that sells unique products. Contains 3 seperate play areas with building toys, table top games, and more to try before buying.

Price: Free, Pay for what you buy.
Grandma's Playroom
Children’s playrooms with coffee and WiFi for adults. Call ahead to make sure there is space. Currently allowing 5 children in the playroom at a time.

Price: $12 for first child and $10 for sibling.
Great Rivers Museum and Lock and Dam (Alton)
Kid-friendly, interactive, exhibits. The lock and Dam tours are outside and give a behind the scenes look at the lock and dam. The tour can get HOT! Kids should use the bathroom before tour and be comfortable listening to speaker. Don't miss the Aquarium with fish.

Health Works (STL)
Kids can go down slides, enjoy a presentation, and have educational free play fun. Great For younger kids, but solid programming for older kids too. Don’t miss learning about boogers.

Heroic Adventures (Edwardsville)
A large selection of comic and trade books, board games, miniature games, toys and collectibles. Holds weekly gaming tournaments and has a game room.

History Museum – History Clubhouse (STL)
Take a trolley ride back in time, serve food in a café, pilot a steamboat, dress in period costumes, and explore history through play. Great for all ages. Especially in the clubhouse.

Jacoby Arts Center (Alton)
Community art center with classes and gallery space. Offers free art club.

Price: Class prices vary.
Korte Recreation Center (Highland)
Has a fitness center, gym, walking track, and indoor pool with, hot tub, toddler pool, lazy river, whirlpool, a two story water slide, and lap lanes. The zero entry toddler pool (age 8 and under) has a small water slide and sprayers. There are family changing rooms and restrooms. Must be 16+ for hot tub and 48 inches tall for large water slide.

Price: Day passes range from $4.50 to $23 per person.
Leve1Up (Granite City)
An arcade with refurbished and re released titles, as well as a few ticket redemption items such as skeeball! Patrons under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Kimara's Pizza next door is happy to provide food and beverages during regular hours. We offer adjusted hours for GCSD9 School Closures.

Price: Player cards are prepaid and do not expire! Games costs $1 to play or you can purchase an hour of free play for $15 or 3 hours for $35.
Macoupin Art Collective (Staunton)
Community art studio with workshops and exhibits. You can bring supplies or use materials in the crafting area. Open Studio does not include use of specialized equipment unless you have completed a class at The MAC, or discuss your plans with our staff before your visit.

Price: Call 618-635-2015, then drop in and enjoy space in the Open Studio for just $5 per hour. PLEASE CALL BEFORE COMING.
Mac’s Family Fun Time (Highland)
A huge indoor climbing structure, traditional ice cream shop, party rooms, and an arcade! Anyone can play on the climbing structure and those who aren't feeling a climb can grab ice cream or enjoy the arcade. There's a great nerf room.

Price: $15 per person for play area. Arcade is pay to play.
The Magic House (STL)
A family attraction packed with hands-on learning, climbing, exhibits, and active play. Great for elementary and younger. Can be hard to supervise, but one area is fenced with staff at doors.

Price: $12+. Free for foster & active-duty military families.

Nickel Plate Station (Edwardsville)
A renovated 135-year-old Railroad Station near the Edwardsville Children's Museum. Provides transportation, STEAM, and geography exhibits that are connected to themes of travel and trains. Has a nice light table and dress up area.

Price: Included in admission at the Edwardsville Children's Museum. $7.00 for nonmembers (adults must pay). Free tickets are available for families who are on food stamps and at local libraries. 747 Longfellow Ave
North American Outfitters (Highland)
Is a professional and laid back shop with 3D animals, 50 yard open range, and golfing.

Play Street Museum
Pretend-play town square with sensory and craft areas. Also has building blocks, sensory equipment and an arts and craft center.

Playtime Party Center (Wentzville)
Laser tag, mini bowling, inflatables, arcade, kitchen.

Post Commons (Alton)
Community gathering space with rotating events. A nice place to get coffee or a snack while the kids play.
Price: Prices were reasonable with a sandwich only costing $6.
Pottery Hollow (Glen Carbon)
Paint-your-own pottery studio. No reservations or experience required. A bowl, a mug, a platter, a piggy bank, there is so much to choose from. They have coupons and a calendar of events. A great time to create and bond together.

Price: Pay for the piece, and a supply fee ($5 for kids and $8 for adults). There are 400+ pieces to choose from, for all ages.
Realms of Gaming (Troy)
Buy, Sell, and Trade Board games, Collectible Card Games, Miniatures, Tabletop RP Games and More. Specializes in Magic singles. Offers organized play.

The Rec (Fairview Heights)
Clip & climb walls, adventure challenges, pools, splash features, lazy river, and Little RECers’ Zone. Ages 3+ with options for all strength levels

RP Lumber Center (Edwardsville)

Tri Township Library (Troy)
Library with children’s programming and learning spaces. Teen room has comfortable seats with teen books. Children's area has play kitchen, toys, and educational activities. Children can search for a hidden object and get a prize. Great for elementary, but older kids can relax with a good book. Noisy kids can be hard to manage in a quieter space, but staff are kind.
