A non-profit, no-kill shelter providing compassion and care to abused, unwanted and abandoned animals. Catty Shack (Hamel) Cat rescue focused on maintaining feral colonies, and finding loving homes for strays. Hope Animal Rescue (Godfrey) An all volunteer rescue who saves dogs on their last day of life for animal controls. Madison County Animal Care and Control (Edwardsville) Runs a shelter for animals found in Madison County. Metro East Humane Society (Edwardsville) A no-kill shelter that provides medical treatment, education, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services. Volunteers can walk dogs, socialize, or assist with bathing, grooming, and cleaning. Children 15 years or younger must be accompanied by guardian. Call or stop by shelter 618-656-4405. Partners 4 Pets (St. Jocob/Troy) Saturdays from 11-3 scheduled curbside adoptions. 9136 Lower Marine Rd Accepts donations of Purina One dry food products for both cats & dogs. Donors can leave food at the front door of the shelter. Pound Pets Inc. Rescue (Granite City) Finds adopters or rescues to save animals in Granite city. Spencer Pet Rescue (Troy) Dedicated to placing homeless dogs and cats into permanent, loving, and responsible homes. Castelli's Mustang and Horse Sanctuary (Edwardsville)
Castelli's Rescues and trains mustangs and burros and finds loving homes. They also educate on equine neglect and abuse. Cornerstone Farms (Saint Jacob) Volunteers help with daily chores, projects, parties, group events, photography, and web development. Volunteers also serve children and adults with developmental disabilities providing FREE lessons to participants. Happy Hooves Equine Rescue (Edwardsville) Volunteers (age 16 and up) help with daily chores, projects, parties, group events, fundraisers, grant writing, and gardening. Volunteers can help with answering wildlife calls via the 24-hour hotline, responding to calls, rescuing animals in need, providing critical care, transporting, providing in-home care, and more. Treehouse Wildlife Center (Godfrey) A place for sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife. Open 10am-4pm, Fridays-Sundays. Offering hands-on learning as well as an in-depth discussion tailored to meet the needs of the group. Willoughby Farm (Collinsville) An educational reserve with cows, goats, ponies, bunnies, chickens, tractors, and a farm house. The farm has rest rooms, picnic shelters, hiking trails, and an intricate play area. |
